August Momentum: Groundbreaking Stories, Lasting Impact

August isn’t just a month, it’s a movement. While many slow down for summer’s final stretch, our team has leaned in. From strategic storytelling to community celebration, we’ve been busy building more than content, we’re building connection.

Idlewild: A Groundbreaking Worth Celebrating

On August 25, we’ll gather for the Idlewild groundbreaking, a milestone that reflects years of vision, planning, and advocacy. This isn’t just a construction site. It’s a symbol of what’s possible when affordable housing meets community-driven storytelling.

UPDATE: The groundbreaking was a huge success! The Raleigh community gathered together for the groundbreaking of Cottages of Idlewild in downtown Raleigh on August 25. Community leaders, officials, residents, partners, sponsors, namesakes and friends showed up for this important moment. LeVelle Moton gave a moving speech about his younger days growing up in Idlewild. The Loop team were honored to be a part of the event. RALT is partnered with Raleigh Raised Development Group, which Levelle is co-founder.

This project from our nonprofit client, Raleigh Area Land Trust along with Raleigh Raised and the support of many partners, will have a tremendous impact on the Idlewild community in downtown Raleigh by providing an anchor of affordability in a rapidly gentrifying community. The journey to get here has been long and it would not be possible without all of the support of partners, sponsors, community and more. As long as the journey has been, we know that the project will be equally impactful in creating 18 permanently affordable homes in the historic community of Idlewild.

Want to see the impact firsthand? Check out their page on the ralt.org site: Cottages of Idlewild where they will be sharing photos and reflections from the event as well as updates on their social media!
