Hidden Gems

FEBRUARY 20, 2023 | VoyageRaleigh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Sloan & Robyn Kelly. Check out their story below:

Tanya has been in marketing and communications for several years and has focused on social media. After having a career in education, Robyn returned to school to get a second degree in graphic design. We’ve been friends for several years and ended up interning at a nonprofit marketing agency in downtown Raleigh as 40-year-olds! While interning, we saw a need for affordable marketing for smaller nonprofits, and Loop Creative was born. We quickly learned we needed help to do all the things! So now, over 5 years later, there are 10 of us. We partner with freelancers who are experts in their field.

Please talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned. Has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Realizing that we needed help! For two years, we tried to do everything, which took a toll on our families and us. Partnering with other creatives that wanted a flexible schedule and freedom to do what they loved was the answer.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Loop Creative?

Our mission is to spread the voice of socially conscious organizations far and wide. We are a nonprofit marketing agency. We offer everything from graphic and web design to social media management. We have worked with over 50 nonprofits in the triangle area. We are also the local community leaders for the global Giving Tuesday organization.

We’d like to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.

We were lucky to reconnect after having known each other for over 12 years. We didn’t see each other often, so for us to end up interning at the same agency was very lucky!
