Rooted in Rural Collaborative Case Study
The “What + Why”
While the Rural Action Network focuses on activating leaders, Rooted in Rural Collaborative builds the relationships and shared learning that make that leadership sustainable. The work matters because it reflects a shift from a traditional “community of practice” to a co-designed, relationship-driven ecosystem shaping the future of equitable rural development.
The “Problem We Solved”
MDC needed a brand that could engage members, attract partners, and support regional expansion—while clearly communicating co-creation, shared learning, and narrative change. We helped reframe the work into something more expansive, human, and future-facing.
The “What We Actually Did”
We led the logo development process, including brand positioning, tagline development, and visual identity direction. We then worked closely with the MDC team to translate that direction into design, developing and refining logo concepts through multiple iterations to arrive at a final identity. The result is a visual identity built for storytelling, partner engagement, and expansion across MDC’s Southern footprint.
The “Win / Result / Moment”
The breakthrough came with the idea of “Growing Rural Futures.” It gave the collaborative a clear identity and language that reflects both its relational foundation and its long-term vision.
